Automobile production at Audi Hungaria has achieved a new milestone: The 500,000th car, an Audi TTS Coupé, rolled off the line in Győr and is now on its way to its new owner in the United Kingdom. The car is painted in exclusive “viper green” and equipped with a 2.0 four-cylinder gasoline engine (combined fuel consumption in l/100 km: 7.3 – 6.7 (32.2 – 35.1 US mpg), combined CO2 emissions in g/km: 168 – 155 (270.4 – 249.4 g/mi*). The engine was also produced by the Audi Hungaria plant.
Automobile production has a long tradition at Audi Hungaria. “The production of the first Audi TT models began in Győr almost 20 years ago, in 1998. In 2013, we opened our first full-fledged automotive plant and, since then, we have produced 500,000 cars with the four rings in full production depth,” said Arnd-Robert Sponagel, Board Member for Car Production at Audi Hungaria. “In addition, we will expand our product portfolio next year with the premium compact SUV Audi Q3. It will be followed one year later by the new Audi Q4 as another model that is completely manufactured in Győr. With this model, Audi is entering the Compact Utility Vehicle (CUV) segment.”
The 4,000 automobile production employees currently manufacture the Audi TT Coupé and Roadster models as well as the Audi A3 Sedan and the Audi A3 Cabriolet. Their sporty siblings, the Audi TT RS Coupé and Roadster as well as the Audi RS 3 Sedan, also roll off the assembly line in Győr.
