TAN Chong has always been rather conservative in Malaysian when it comes to releasing new models. They have instead taking the route of facelifts and makeovers to keep their models fresh for showroom appeal. All this changed last year when they took a new lead in product development and started moving new models into their many showrooms nationwide. With award winning engines, the Cefiro took in good sales but with no new model in the horizon after more than 9 years on the block; the Accord and Camry took comfortable sales lead and left Nissan dealers with no new luxury executive car to sell. Across the causeway the situation was very different as Nissan showrooms in Singapore had the Teana (Cefiro replacement) since 2005
