Classic Cars and Trucker Rule
AFTER a quiet month following the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations , a few Klang Valley classic car owners came out of 'hibernation' to partake in a vintage and classic drive to Seremban recently. The Negeri Sembilan Lorry Operators' Association(NSLOA ) celebrated it's 73rd anniversary in a grand fashion by hosting a two day Truck, Motor and Products Exhibition at the Era Square in Seremban's Terminal 2 on the 26 th and 27th of October, to promote road safety and awareness. Companies related to the trucking industry in Malaysia displayed their products and services at this attractively landscaped square. The highlight of the day was a vintage and classic car concours, organized by Michael Sundram, with participation of cars from the Malaysia and Singapore Vintage Car Register (MSVCR) and other classic car clubs in the country. Owners left Kuala Lumpur as early as 7am, cruising down south for breakfast at Kuala Sawah (a small town located at the outskirts of Seremban), courtesy of the Negeri Sembilan Vintage and Classic Car Club ( NSVCC ). With the exception of a 1961 Ford Galaxie which was not it's 'usual self ' due to a faulty alternator, the convoy of other period vehicles were then guided to the Royal Adelphi Hotel in town to ferry the dignitaries and delegates from various state lorry associations in the country to the square. Amongst the cars lined-up for the competition were a Rolls Royce Corniche, a MG-TF, Triumph TR3A, Jaguar MK11, Ford Tudor, Austin A35 and A40, MGB, Dodge Dart GT, Opel GT and Manta, a Volkswagen Miura, Cadillac, Ford Escort MK1 and Cortina MKIV, Cadillac
