Years ago my cousin had a Volvo 244, a boxy somewhat boring looking car that was equally boring to drive. Those memories, coupled with Volvo's persistence at remaining boxy have kept me something less than a Volvo fan. But as I've noted of late, change finally has come to the Swedish carmaker. And it is all good.
The latest Volvo S40 2.4i, a fun drive. Volvo has revamped its entrylevel S40 and, as with its other recent models, has given it some personality. It reshaped the behind end to make the trunk lid stick up substantially from the rear fenders and gave the car a more modern nose with a sculpted hood. Couple that with a rounder roofline and the car has a sleeker look about it also.
