Klang, 5 August 2018 – Vantage Speed Sdn Bhd (“Vantage Speed”) officially launched its new 4S dealer outlet here today. The event was officiated by Dr Li Chunrong, Chief Executive Officer of PROTON, in the presence of Senior Management members of PROTON.
4S dealer outlet – towards better sales and service experience
Vantage Speed has been operating as a PROTON dealer since 2009 as 1S and 2S outlets at separate locations. However, to move in tandem with PROTON direction, to serve customers better as a one-stop centre, shareholders of Vantage Speed has decided to invest in the business as a 4S centre. It dissolved its 2S outlet; Magnavision Sdn Bhd, and renovated the whole area to be the new 4S centre. It maintained its 1S outlet in Setia Alam, in its pursuit to continue to provide convenience to its existing customers there.
As a dealer who has been in the auto industry for some time, the need to provide good and excellent customer service is a must. According to Dato’ Sri Tee Boon Kee, Director of Vantage Speed, “Ultimately, what matters is customers are happy going into the outlet to shop for a car. Once they have purchased a car, they must also be happy to send in their car for service with us. However, we would not be able to achieve this level of customer satisfaction if we do not operate as a one-stop centre. A 4S centre will allow for deeper customer engagement, and thorough understanding of their needs. Hence, the decision to operate as a 4S dealer is definitely a good choice”.
Great facilities, great location, with a dynamic team to run the business
The outlet which is situated in an industrial area, along the town’s second main road, has many facilities for customers’ convenience. With a built up area of 2418 meter square, the outlet consists of 14 service bays, 10 body and paint bays, and could accommodate up to 10 vehicles in the showroom area. Customers will have ample seating space, with 80 customer seating available for them.
Besides these, like all standard PROTON outlets, there are coffee area, kids’ area, free WIFI and comfortable customer lounge area for them to relax while waiting for their cars to be serviced.
Dato’ Sri Tee further added, “The outlet is located in a densely populated area in Klang, and its presence is already familiar to all. This area also has a large number of Proton owners and they are the right target market to upgrade to the new and exciting line-up of Proton vehicles”.
In addition, the outlet has dedicated staff to manage customers’ expectations.
According to Dato’ Sri Tee, “I must emphasise that, besides having a good location, we do indeed have a very capable team running the outlet, from sales to service, there are dedicated staff to ensure customers have a good and pleasant experience throughout their sales and service journey. For this reason, we are confident that we are moving in the right direction under the PROTON roadmap towards excellence in service, sales and business growth. For us, we foresee increase in sales and service throughput by more than 50%”.
Dealer outlet upgrades on track
, achieved 85% against target
As at 31 July 2018, PROTON has approved 93 outlets for upgrade to 3S and 4S. This is an 85% achievement against the target of 109 outlets by October this year.
Dr. Li Chunrong, Chief Executive Officer of PROTON, has been very positive with the developments which are unfolding in the Company. “I am happy that our outlet upgrades are on track. PROTON is in a very good position to redeem itself in the market. We are confident that we could achieve approval upgrades of 109 outlets by October, or maybe even earlier than expected. When we embarked on this exercise to upgrade our outlets, it was always to ensure customers can get the best experience whey walk into the outlets. The objectives were clear, and now that the results are almost being realised, we believe the outlet platforms are ready to receive the coming of the first Proton SUV in the market, as well as other future models”.
For this week alone, the Company also witnessed two of its branches, the Chan Sow Lin and Puchong outlets being upgraded with fresh looking façade to be in line with PROTON business proposition to revamp all its network to serve customers better. The former is a 4S outlet, whilst the latter is a 1S outlet.
Sales soar for the month of July – 8,102 units sold
PROTON has been gaining momentum based on the sales record in recent months.
As of July, PROTON managed to achieve 31% more sales than previous month. In July PROTON recorded more than 8000 cars sold, and secured 11.7% of market share. This is a record figure which the Company had not witnessed for the past 30 months. The Company believes that aside from the zero-rated GST imposed by the government from July till September, which helped the Company’s sales, the increase was also due to its growing brand presence in the market.
